"Demilitarize. Disarm. Defund." slogan contributed by Claudia Vincent, demands the removal of unnecessarily violent tactics from U.S. police departments, and to redistribute funding to social services that police officers are not trained for nor should they be responsible for providing, such as mental health services, support for survivors of domestic violence, survivors of hate crimes, houseless individuals, and the protection of sex workers. The disproportionate violence against BIPOC  by police is a systemic problem that needs to be addressed and changed effective immediately.
